The Pink Sun

I dwell upon a hidden road.

I discovered where the Sun is born

and keeps all pink things hidden,

the instant that does not pass,

unveiling the world

with its luminosity.

In the East, over the Indian Ocean,

in Besant Nagar*

the pink dawn

of a limpid, tepid, liquid daybreak,

suffusing minutes that do not wait,

of people never done with passing,

of people never done with yearning.

Of Sun, never done with flashing,

of a wet Sun, forever through me burning.

*A beach in Chennai that honors Annie Besant—an English co-Freemason, suffragette, Indian nationalist, and the adoptive mother of Krishnamurti. Imprisoned in 1916 for advocating for Indian independence, she was released following a letter from Mahatma Gandhi; she was the first woman to preside over the Indian National Congress, serving for one year in 1917.

Descobri onde o Sol nasce

e guarda as ruas rosas,

o instante que não passa

e faz descobrir o mundo

com a sua luminosidade.

a aurora rosa

de alvor cálido, tépido, líquido

de minutos que não esperam

de gente, que de passar não cessa

de gente, que de viver não morre.

de Sol quente, que de mover não erra,

de Sol ardente, que de queimar me escorre.

* Praia em Chennai que homenageia Annie Besant, inglesa co-freemason, sufragete, nacionalista indiana, mãe adotiva de Krishnamurti. Presa em 1916 por defender a independência indiana, foi liberada após uma carta de Mahatma Gandhi; primeira mulher a presidir o Congresso Nacional Indiano por um ano, em 1917.
